Overview of Education Programs

Adults

The Booth Museum offers a number of educational opportunities for adults. In addition to the Museum's annual events, we offer group tours, lectures each month during Art for Lunch and on the Third Thursday evening, and a daily Highlights tour of the Museum.

Children

The Booth Museum is a great place for children. Through a variety of programming, tours and activities even the Museum’s youngest visitors will enjoy their visit. From school tours and summer day camps to Sagebrush Ranch, Children’s Saturday and the Georgia Youth Cowboy Poetry Contest, children can learn about art, the West, the Civil War, and the United States Presidents. The Museum even offers special activities online and in the Museum to help make the most of your child’s visit to the Museum.

Booth Art Academy

Art classes for children and adults are offered at the Booth Art Academy throughout the year. Classes are held at the TRC building at 1 North Gilmer Street unless otherwise noted. To sign up for an art class, call 770-387-3849.

Library

The Booth Museum Research Library is a non-circulating reference library for Western American art, culture, and history. The Library also has small collections of reference materials on Civil War history, United States presidential history, and local history that support the collections of the Booth Western Art Museum. The Library is available to museum visitors, students, researchers and the public Tuesday through Friday during Museum hours by appointment only.
