Mission Statement
The Booth Photography Guild shall pursue, develop and passionately endeavor to bring about an increased interest in and appreciation of photography as an art form. This will be accomplished by educating photographers of all levels and by exhibiting photography and bringing in exhibitions to the community. The Guild’s main purpose is to cultivate photography enthusiasts who are patrons, members and guests of the Booth Western Art Museum.
Meet the Steering Committee:
John Mariana is a renowned photographer and popular educator of photography expertise. He has conducted numerous workshops across the United States.
He started using photography in connection to his art background to create color images in 1980, and by 1984, large format black and white prints became his specialty. Today, John uses digital files to bring a new and different look to his work with primary focus on a unique color palette with visual and emotional presentation. He has won numerous awards for his large print images and regularly donates his work and talents to non-profit endeavors.

| Liz Gentry's first love has always been photography, shooting flowers, birds
and wildlife. A self taught artist and photographer, she will sometimes shoot hundreds to thousands of shots looking for that special one. All of Liz's photos are original, straight from her Nikon Coolpix P90 digital camera. Allowing her camera to be an extension of her arms, Liz chooses not to use Photoshop or other programs to alter what her eye and heart have seen. When not working as the Librarian at the Booth Western Art Museum, Liz's weekends are spent taking photos of flowers and animals around her home and on trips around Georgia and vacations out west. |

| Lynn Henderson has been a photography enthusiast for 30 years – photographing family and friend’s events, her son and his soccer matches. She took several classes at Southeastern Center for Photographic Arts in an effort to understand the basics of her film camera and exposure, and continues to enjoy classes, workshops and photography trips with a variety of organizations and professional photographers. For 15 years, she expressed her love of photography by documenting the sport of English Foxhunting. A winter 2008 workshop in Yellowstone Park with world class photographer Tom Murphy cemented her growth into advanced skills of photography. She shoots with a Canon 40D, photographing nature, landscapes, people and whatever catches her eye. Lynn has been an active supporter of the Booth Museum and its photography interest from its inception. |

| Pete Contrucci began taking photos about 50 years ago with a used 35mm point and shoot. Part of his first paycheck after college graduation was spent on a 35mm SLR. Before moving to digital about 7 years ago, he accumulated thousands of slides of travels, vacations, landscapes, kids, and family events. His favorite digital subjects remain travel, landscapes and grand kids. He continues to develop as a photographer by taking classes and workshops. Among his best workshop experiences was a weekend photographing Texas Hill Country Wildflowers and a week long National Geographic workshop in Santa Fe. He is a Booth Volunteer and Docent and is delighted with the Booth’s emphasis on photography through exhibitions and guest speakers. |
