The Booth holds two regularly scheduled public lectures per month featuring authors, writers, historians and artists.
Art for Lunch is on the first Wednesday of every month from 12:15 pm to 1:00 pm .
Evening lectures are held on the third Thursday evening each month at 7:00 pm.
All lectures are in the Booth Theatre; admission is free for members and volunteers and included with Museum admission for not-yet-members. Ticketed events may have additional fees.

Major Event
Annual Gala: For the Love of Art
February 18, 5:00-9:00 p.m.
The Booth’s annual fundraising gala will begin with a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by a gourmet dinner and live art auction. The highlight of the evening will be the presentation of the Booth Western Art Museum Lifetime Achievement Award to Fred Fellows. Tickets for the event are $150 per person.
Special Exhibitions
Western American Art South of the Sweet Tea Line III
Through February 12 – Special Exhibition Gallery
This is the third offering in the Booth’s signature triennial exhibition series, featuring seldom seen great works of art from public and private Southern collections. Included are more than 90 paintings and sculpture in a range of media and styles covering over 150 years of art history.
The Iconic West of R. Tom Gilleon
Through May 27 – Temporary Exhibition Gallery
Tom Gilleon brings a unique perspective to the iconic subjects of the West, and is best known for his translucent teepees. The more than 30 paintings in this exhibition expose viewers to the full range of his subjects, including grain elevators, Indians, horses and landscapes. Also included are several nine panel grid paintings reminiscent of Andy Warhol.

Art for Lunch: Artist Brett Weaver
February 1, 12:15 p.m. Booth Ballroom
Members and guests are invited to watch award winning plein aire artist Brett Weaver paint a finished landscape in less than one hour. Based in Chattanooga, Weaver paints on location around the country attempting to capture the essence of the scene in front of him. One of his paintings, based on a trip out west, is featured in Western American Art South of the Sweet Tea Line III.
Evening Lecture: Herb Mignery
February 16, 7:00 p.m. Booth Theatre
Colorado sculptor Herb Mignery has been a member of the Cowboy Artists of America since 1984. He has won numerous awards at the group’s annual show, including a gold medal for Call of the Bison in the Booth collection. He will discuss the creation of this piece and the many monuments he has created.
