TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS
The Booth Western Art Museum hosts a number of temporary exhibitions throughout the year. These temporary exhibitions are held in the Museum’s three temporary exhibition galleries: Special Temporary Exhibition Gallery (upper level), Theatre Lobby Gallery (main level), and Borderlands Gallery (lower level).
Special Exhibition Gallery
Located on the upper level of the Museum, the Special Temporary Exhibition Gallery is the largest temporary gallery space in the Museum. Throughout the year, this gallery typically hosts three to four exhibitions. For each exhibition held in this gallery, the entire gallery changes – from the layout of the temporary walls and the painting on the walls to the lighting. Since the Museum’s opening, exhibitions in this gallery have been varied and have included paintings and drawings, sculpture, photography, Native American baskets, Navajo rugs, decorative cowboy and Indian gear and much more.
Temporary Exhibition Gallery
The Temporary Exhibition Gallery is located on the upper level of the Museum adjacent to the Special Exhibition Gallery. This gallery typically hosts 3 – 4 exhibitions a year, and is often the gallery for the exhibitions by featured artists for the Annual Southeastern Cowboy Gathering and Annual Southeastern Cowboy Festival & Symposium.
